An engraved Italian bone casket,

probably Rome, circa 1600. Shallow, rectangular walnut body. The exterior completely covered with tiles made from polished bone. With finely engraved saints on the lid, the framing as well as the sides with tendril decoration. Lock on the front side, the key missing. The right edge of the front side with minor imperfections. Dimensions 13.5 x 11 x 3.5 cm.
