A German silver-mounted flintlock rifle,

Andreas Gans, Augsburg, circa 1730. Octagonal, Ottoman Damascus barrel with star-shaped grooves in 14 mm calibre. Dovetailed silver front sight and double, folding brass rear sight. Brass-filled Ottoman manufacturer's mark on top of the barrel as well as rich ornamental silver inlays. Cut flintlock with double set trigger, the lockplate signed "ANDREAS GANS IN AUGSPURG". Carved walnut full stock with patchbox, horn nose and finely cut silver furniture. Original (shortened) ramrod with horn tip. Length 109 cm.
