A banner with banderol of the war veterans of the Jeunesses Patriotes.

France after 1924. Three-piece tricolour silk cloth with golden, hand-made paintings, the emblem of the JP centrally on both sides with circumscription "Anciens Combattants des Jeunesses Patriotes", the corners with an oak leave- and a laurel wreath with "J.P.". Three sides with golden fringes. Dimensions circa 96 x 94 cm. Red-white-blue flag banderol made from silk with golden fringes and two elevated oak leave and laurel wreaths with "JP" in the middle, embroidered in gold and with sequins, dimensions circa 96 x 23 cm. Black, polished wooden shaft (the lower part is missing) with gilt metal tip, total length circa 164 cm. The silk cloth with age-related defects and a large, square tear on one side.
The Jeneusses Patriotes had been founded in 1924 by Bonapartist Pierre Taittinger as a radical right-wing league. In 1926 it consisted of 65.000 and in 1934 of 100.000 members. On 6 February 1934 the JP organised, together with the Croix de Feu, the Ligue monarchiste d'Action Fran‡aise as well as the Solidarité Fran‡aise, an anti-parliamentary march on the Place de la Concorde, effecting the resignation of Daladier and the introduction of a new government. The numerous war veterans amongst the 30.000 revolters were led by this banner.
