A Flemish cuirassier's closed burgonet,

early 17th century. The skull hammered in two pieces joined at the narrow comb. Iron plume socket riveted at the nape of the neck. Pivoted fall with later repair, also a pivoted ridged visor, and a buffe with a latch hook (replacement) on the right side. Riveted pointed gorget with a turned under edge, surrounded by rivets with brass heads (some replaced). Surfaces have patina, and are pitted and rusted through in places. Height 32 cm.
