circa 1580. Rectangular strongbox of heavy sheet iron with riveted reinforcing bands. Hinged lid. Keyhole with a spring-loaded cover. The lock mechanism with large "C" spring and four latches. Bevelled, domed lock-housing with high quality ward. Key belongs, bit slightly damaged. A lockable inner compartment at the lower left with two latches and the original key. Two moveable handles on the narrow sides. Dimensions 42 x 84 x 44.5 cm.
