An Illyrian type helmet with gold edging,

6th - 5th century B.C. Bronze with fine greenish-brownish patina. Hemispherical skull with two parallel ridges extending from front to back. Perforations for crest attachment at front. Narrow rectangular face-opening bordered by fine sheet gold, the pointed cheekpieces with pierced holes for the chinstrap. The perimeter embellished with a row of embossed circles, further embossed decorations at the edges of the face-opening. Short, slightly flared neck-guard. Height 27 cm.
Restored crack at the upper right edge of the face-opening, minimal restorations of the left ridge at the back of the head and of the neck-guard.
