An Illyrian type helmet,

6th century B.C. Bronze with strong greenish patina. The helmet dome with a broad crest base contoured by two parallel ridges running from front to back. A fastening catch riveted to the nape. Rectangular face opening with pointed cheekpieces. The perimeter bordered by a raised band and ornamental rivets. Slightly flaring rear flange. Height 22.5 cm, weight 915 g.
Several repairs in the area of the crest base. Restored break at the point of the right cheekpiece, parts of the rear flange added. Deep dent at the left temple.
