A South German dagger,

ca. 1400. Heavy, single-edged blade, the foible double-edged, the forte grooved on both sides. Quillons and pommel are of brass with a dark patina and decorated with notches and stylized monster heads, the original bone grip also with notch decoration. Extraordinarily well preserved, uncleaned excavation discovery. Length 31 cm.
