A German wheellock rifle,

circa 1680. Octagonal, slightly swamped barrel with eight-groove rifled bore in 14.4 mm calibre, dovetailed brass sight and iron rear sight. Cut and lightly engraved wheellock with set trigger. Walnut full stock with floral and hunting scene carving and (lightly restored) bone nose. Patch box and ramrod thimbles with engraved, blackened bone overlays, bone-inlaid bear on the cheek. Original, wooden ramrod with bone tip and iron threaded socket. Length 106 cm.
A wheellock rifle in fine condition.
