A South German ivory seal,
circa 1700. Finely carved grip in the form of a kneeling beggar. The right hand raised in a pleading gesture (the fingers damaged), underneath the right arm a crutch and a slouched hat. Octagonal base, silver matrix of the 19th century with monogram "EM". Height 11 cm.
