A tiger,

20th century. A magnificently, realistically stuffed female tiger (Panthera tigris) on a base mounted on rollers. Length (including the tail) 215 cm, shoulder height 90 cm, total height 102 cm.
Tigers used to live in Central Asia, on the Indian subcontinent, in Siberia and all over East Asia, one can assume that at the beginning of the 20th century still more than 100,000 tigers were living in the wild. Nowadays only a total of 2,500 exemplars has remained and none of the few single subpopulations comprises more than 250 animals.
This stuffed tiger has not been living in the wild but derives from a private breeding.
