A German dagger of Landsknecht type,

circa 1530 - 1550. Tapering fullered blade, the upper portion slender and double-edged, the lower portion single-edged and cut with additional fullers. S-shaped horizontal quillons with globular tips, compressed cap pommel of two piece construction, and retaining its original wooden grip. Excavated condition. Length 34 cm.
