Lot Nr.5008
Kaiser Friedrich III (1831 - 1888) and Kaiser Wilhelm II (1859 - 1941).
Two cut-glass champagne saucers with bulbous stem on round foot, connected by decorative fluted sections. The rim with the inscription (transl.) "His Royal-Imperial Highness the Crownprince of the German Empire and Prussia drank from this glass. Cöpenick, 16th July 1885" and "His Royal Highness Prince William of Prussia drank from this glass. Cöpenick, 16th July 1885" respectively. Height of each 11 cm. Rare remembrance of the common visit of Frederick, who was at that time still Crownprince, and his son in Köpenick (written with "K" only since 1931), which was due to its numerous lakes and forests a very popular resort. Shortly afterwards it became internationally known through the play "Der Hauptmann von Köpenick" by Carl Zuckmayer.
