Chassis no. 25925, badge number (reproduction) 027932 in engine compartment, ID badge (not original) attached to centre beam of chassis 027932. Doors with insertable acrylic glass windows and folding top (in good condition) are reproduced. The folding mechanism as well as all four mud-guards are original. Contemporary headlights bear clearly visible "Bosch" marking, horn not original. Notek black-out light and "Hella" searchlight (support and fastening renewed) and left back mirror exist. The attachments for the shovel carrier as well as for the windscreen are reproduced. Lower box section copied, running boards existing. Spare tyre on original rim, 16-inch rims. The shock absorbers and stearing linkage with protecting cover as well as the stearing gear (cog wheel logo) are original parts. Contemporary Notek black-out rear light with later mounting. Original bonnet, the number plate fixings have, however, been renewed. "IDEAL" jack and oil can. Post war Volkswagen Beetle engine no. 122-024478. Gear box without markings, hydraulic rear shock absorbers. Original chassis floor and engine protective plate. Schwimmwagen type dashboard complete and in good condition, original steering wheel, speedometer and fuse box not original. Windscreen, wiper motors and gear stick original (with knob depicting cog wheel logo). Newly fixed wiring harness, original petrol tank. Jerry can with a later fastening belt. Gratings, front seats and back rest of seat bench reproduced (seating of seat bench original). Base plate of rifle carriers is copied, upper fixings original. Silencers identically copied. French registration certificate. Altogether more than 55.000 Kübelwagen were produced. Its light weight, the self-locking differential and the back wheel reducing gear unit made the Ferdinand Porsche-designed vehicle superior to the American jeeps. Originally equipped with a 985 cc engine it later had a 1131 cc motor and shared numerous parts with the Beetle. This indefatigable vehicle was used on all frontlines. It has a very simple conception, but is highly reliable and was dearly appreciated in the army. Being in civil service it could for a long time be seen on the roads of post-war Germany while people were waiting for car production to be resumed.
