Peter Wroe - A fine Milanese miniature full armour

in the style of 1470 - 1480, 20th century
Accurately represented to the scale in white metal alloy, leathered and highly decorated throughout, partly articulated, including barbuta, mail shirt, cuirass of two-part construction front and rear (the cuirass and fauld hinged on the left and closed by straps on the right), spaulders attached by lace, the left-hand haute piece and counter each fitted with a reinforcing-piece, gauntlets with long pointed cuffs, poleyns fitted with mail lower borders, mail sabatons, rowel spurs and arming sword. On its leather-covered figural stand with painted resin face, the base inset with the maker's plaque signed "PW17". In near new condition, the barbuta with minor surface blemishes, the head slightly loose fitting. Height 32 cm.
