Peter Wroe - A fine North Italian miniature full harness

in the style of 1380 - 1390, 20th century
Accurately represented to scale in white metal alloy, leathered and highly detailed throughout, partly articulated, including bascinet with "houndskull" visor and aventail of iron and brass rings, cuirass and tonlet covered with red suede leather studded with decorated rivets, "hourglass" gauntlets, mail shirt and rowel spurs. Leather covered shield, dagger, arming sword. On its leather covered figural stand with carved resin face, the base inset with the maker's plaque signed "PW6". In near new condition. Height 32.5 cm.
The cuirass was modelled on the fabric-covered example attributed to Master "R", preserved in the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum, München (W195).
