A German black-and-white burgonet

circa 1580
Two-piece skull with a tall comb. Pointed peak with turned edge and bearing an illegible mark. Riveted neck lame with a rectangular opening and double holes. Hinged cheek-pieces with fives holes for hearing. The original buckle for the chinstrap is attached. Beautiful, unaltered helmet. The hinge of the right cheek-piece is slightly defective. Height 30 cm.
