A composite cuirassier armour
Historismus period, in the style of circa 1630 Superbly crafted armour with original 17th century breast and back-plate. Heavy close helmet with low keel-shaped comb and a riveted plume holder at nape. Upper bevor with pointed peak. Lower bevor with side hooks. Riveted neck-guard with turned edge. The collar opens on a hinge. Breast-plate with medial ridge and one-lame skirt. The back-plate with skirt of two lames and studded shoulder straps. Large eight-lame pauldrons, full arm defences with closed upper and lower cannons. Long laminated tassets of thirteen lames with attached poleyns, reducible to six lames. All pieces blackened, the leather in good condition, mounted on a wooden stand. Height 165 cm. Traditionally crafted armour of excellent quality.
