A large Indonesian lantaka

18th century
Bronze with beautiful aged patina. Heavy, octagonal barrel transitioning to round, in 3.5 cm calibre, with cannon muzzle and lateral trunnions. A cartouche on top of the breech, and surrounding jagged decoration with vine ornaments in fine relief and a massive cascabel. Bronze fork swivel mount with leaf decoration. Mounted on a wooden base. Length 120 cm. Weight about 70 kg.
