A gold-decorated kris

Sumatra, circa 1900
Very wavey-edged blade (21 luk) with evident pamor, bearing a cut and gilt Naga-raja serpent on both sides. Brass selut, ivory grip in the shape of a Jawa demam figure. Ivory warangka and chape, the wooden scabbard covered on the obverse side with decoratively embossed nickel-silver. Length 38 cm.
