A gold-decorated kris

Madura before 1900
A wavy pamor blade with 11 luk (curves). Gold inlays in the shape of vines and lobsters on both sides of the base of the blade and on top of the ganja. Carved ivory grip. Figured Timoho wood warangka. Brown lacquered (somewhat dented) brass scabbard cover with an ornamental openwork panel on the obverse side. Length 47 cm.
Brown lacquered scabbards could only be worn by courtiers at the Sultan's court.
