A large Roman Dionysos appliqué,

1st/2nd century A.D. Bronze with greenish patina. Bust of the young god with intricate headdress, wearing an animal skin over the left shoulder, flanked by large wine leaves on eather side. Inlays of the eyes missing. A cast-in square metal rod running along the reverse side. Height 18.5 cm.
