A defeated gladiator,
Roman, 1st/2nd century A.D. Bronze with greenish patina. A three-dimensional figure of a Thraex (Thracian) with typical helmet and pieces of fabric armour. The left hand raised in front of the forehead in a gesture of surrender, the right hand holding the sica is positioned behind the body. The left leg and right foot have been lost. Mounted on a modern stone base. Height without base 7.6 cm. Total height 12 cm. Provenance: Private collection in Southern Germany.
