A Colt Single Action Army Mod. 1873,

cal..45 Colt, no. 95389. Matching numbers. Slightly rough bore, can be improved through cleaning, good groove/land profile, barrel length 7 1/2". 1883 manufacture already in steel instead of iron. On barrel standard company address of this serial range, on the left "N J" (New Jersey?). Bottom left on frame threefold patent data, beside this "U.S.". Various acceptance marks "D.F.C.", right grip panel with cartridge "DFC". Weapon completely in a brown patina. Hammer thinly colour case-hardened. Smooth walnut grip panels, damaged bottom left, the right one in good order. Good overall condition.
For this weapon a letter from Colt of 2008 is available. Moreover there is an expertise by Wolfgang Dicke on the life of this weapon which is also mentioned in the book "Colt Cavalry & Artillery Revolvers" by Kopec/Fenn as one of 130 arms delivered to New Jersey. Furthermore the letter reports about the corresponding contract, the inspector's acceptance and details of the delivery to New Jersey.
