A Hellenistic Pilos type helmet,

4th/3rd century B.C. Cone-shaped bronze Pilos helmet with an offset rim. On either side two pairs of holes for the chin strap attachment. Height 22 cm, weight 752 g.
Deformed, dark green to blue-green patina. Heavily corroded. Supplements to the skull. The inside reinforced with fibreglass. Axel Guttmann Collection (AG 408/H 348), acquired in 1991 in Krefeld.
