A close helmet

England or Germany, circa 1560/70
Skull forged in one piece with a high comb and a two-piece closeable visor. The upper part of the visor with two separate eye slits, a corded flange on the bottom and a lifting peg on the right side. The separate lower part of the visor has a corded turned under rim. The bevor with a closure hook on the right side. Restorations in places in the lower parts of the gorget of two lames with surrounding lining rivets and corded turned under rims. The comb somewhat damaged in two places with traces of brass solder. Surfaces show traces of corrosion in places. Height 30 cm.
