Lot Nr.2028

A Viennese faience figures sculpture

Goldscheider(?) Company, circa 1870
A couple in Bosnian costumes leaning on a rock, modelled in detail in full relief, and colour painted. The man has a yataghan and two pistols in his belt, the woman is holding a flute. Floral decorated, high plinth, numbered "627" and "8" on the back and bearing the inscription (transl.), "Protected by Law, Copies Reserved". Except for a small chip or restoration respectively on the lower edge of the plinth, in perfect condition, presumably, the man originally held a spear or something similar in his right hand. Total height 76 cm.
Impressive sculpture.
