A German flintlock rifle,

circa 1760. Heavy Damascus barrel (17th century) with smooth bore in 21 mm calibre and a cannon muzzle. The top of the barrel is richly set with ornamentally engraved silver. Silver-inlaid Ottoman miquelet flintlock. Carved walnut full stock with horn nose cap, brass furniture engraved with baroque designs, and the original wooden ramrod with a horn tip. Length 115 cm.
Provenance: Erbach Castle, then the Keith Neal Collection.
