A flintlock rifle,

C. Freund, Fürstenau, circa 1780. Lightly swamped octagonal barrel (reblued) with seven-groove rifled bore in 14 mm calibre with a silver front sight and an iron rear sight. Silver-inlaid vines and the signature, "C. Freund in Fürstenau" on the breech. Replaceable, threaded ignition bushing, Silver-inlaid flintlock with another signature, "Freund". Set trigger. Beautiful walnut full stock with floral carving, patch box, checkered small of the stock, and brass nose cap. Inlaid horn and bone stars on the cheek piece. Brass furniture engraved with floral designs. Silver escutcheon. Wooden ramrod with brass tip. Length 105 cm.
