A large French gate lock with two keys

dated 1772
Heavy iron lock housing with three fine openwork mounting plates on the sides (two broken at the base). There is a central keyhole on the front for the main key beneath a handle for opening the spring bolt. Riveted decorative edge cut with the date "1772". The back has key guides for the large and small keys. It comes with both of the original keys with ornate bits. The large key locks both the spring bolt as well as the two side wards. The small key only locks the central spring bolt. Width of the lock 39 cm. Length of the keys 22.5 and 11 cm.
