A German wheellock carbine,

circa 1630. Octagonal barrel, slightly swamped at the muzzle, with a smooth bore in 14 mm calibre. Dovetailed rear-sight on the breech with sighting lines cut into the muzzle. The lock has an exterior wheel and ring cock, and crossed sword marks stamped on the interior. Light walnut stock with numerous repairs and improvements. Replacement butt plate, trigger guard, and ramrod. Heavily retouched overall. Length 100 cm.
