A French flintlock shotgun,

St. Germain, Paris, dated 1720. Octagonal, then round smooth bore barrel in calibre 15 mm with silver front sight and well preserved original bluing. There is gold inlaid floral decoration and the signature, "St. Germain a Paris" at the breech. Flintlock with finely engraved hunting themes, repeated signature, and the date "1720". Carved walnut half stock with a horn nose cap and iron furniture engraved en suite. The butt cap is also engraved "1720". A somewhat shortened ramrod with a horn jag. Fine shotgun in unaltered condition. Length 136 cm.
