A gold-inlaid Indian pesh kabz

19th century
Heavily curved wootz Damascus blade with T-shaped cut back and double-edged point. There are floral cartouches in gold inlay on both sides at the base of the blade. An Arabic inscription on the back of the blade. Ivory grip scales. The iron grip frame is inlaid in gold with floral designs and bears a Sanskrit inscription on the outside. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with a gilded chape. Length 37 cm.
