A wheellock rifle,
Sebastian Jobst, Linz, circa 1730. Octagonal, slightly swamped, reused barrel with eight groove rifled bore in 12 mm calibre. Dovetailed front sight and iron folding rear sight. The signature, "MATHEUS MÄTL 1660" is stamped on the breech. Smooth wheellock with an interior wheel. Shortened hair trigger. The lock plate is signed, "SEBASTIAN JOBST" on the upper edge. Carved walnut full stock with patch box and horn nose cap. Brass trigger guard with finger rests and brass side plate. Replacement wooden ramrod. Length 115 cm.
