A German take-down flintlock rifle,
circa 1780. Two-stage barrel, octagonal then round after a baluster, with six groove rifling in 14 mm calibre. Barrel unscrews. Brass front sight and a two-piece folding rear sight. The flintlock is held on with two wing screws and has an exterior mechanism. The brass lock box has an iron hinge and catch for the folding walnut butt stock. Smooth brass furniture. Wooden ramrod with horn tip. Both wing screws broken. One ramrod thimble missing. Length: 124 cm.
