A wedding gift for the Hereditary Count von Schlitz

German, dated 1876
A silver table centrepiece in the form of a doubled grape vine and three playing children. Round base on three feet bearing two scrolls with the dedication inscription (transl.) "To the Hereditary Count Emil von Schlitz, called von Görtz" and on the opposite side "Given by the City of Schlitz on his Wedding 1876". The foot is stamped several times with the silversmith's name, "I.S. Kurz", the 13 Loth hallmark, and "Hanau". Matching facetted crystal glass insert. Height 44 cm. Weight ca. 1500 g.
