A wheellock pistol,

a replica of a Suhl pistol from circa 1615. Smooth bore barrel in 12.5 mm calibre with a cannon muzzle. Jesus and three of his disciples are deeply cut on a stippled background all along the top of the barrel. Functioning wheellock with cut vine designs on the lockplate. Safety on the side opposite the lock. Carved walnut stock, lavishly inlaid with floral decoration and bone figures. Iron trigger guard, ramrod, and wheellock key. Length 73.5 cm.
Extremely high quality exact replica of a wheellock pistol made in Dresden, described and illustrated in "Suhler Feuerwaffen", Militärverlag der DDR, 1986, Ill. 8 - 12 and 18.
