A wigged roe buck
shot in 1872 by Prince Friedrich Karl of Prussia A careful preparation of a wigged roe buck head mounted on a carved and plastered wooden cartouche with a gilded royal crown, bearing an inscription and collection number "1203" on the reverse side. Height of the cartouche 66 cm. Minor damage. Crack in the plaster. Also a pencil drawing of the roe deer with the inscription (transl.): "On August 13 of the Year 1872, near the village of Stolpe, not far from His Highness' Hunting Castle Glienicke, His Royal Highness Prince Friedrich Karl of Prussia stalked and shot this roe deer which, instead of the normal antlers bore this highly unusual wig-like material.
