A French or English knightly dagger

1st half of the 14th century
Heavy single-edged blade with narrow fullers on both sides. The back has two grooves. Slightly curved quillons terminating in flat finials. Broad tang with five holes. Heavy disk pommel with a copper coat of arms set on one side, bearing a rampant lion in red enamel. Cleaned excavation discovery. Length 33.5 cm.
