An ivory writing box

India, 17th/18th century
Rectangular casket with a slightly cambered lid. The ivory plates on all sides ornamented with very fine cut floral and vine decoration. Mountings are fire gilded copper. There are two compartments on the inside with inset copper inkwells with decorated hinged lids. Dimensions 6 x 23 x 7 cm.
