A gold-inlaid tulwar

India, end of the 18th century
Curved, single-edged, wootz-Damascus blade with a broadened double-edged point. The surface of the typical iron hilt is entirely covered with gold-inlaid floral vines (minimal defects). The underside of the guard plate has an inscription in Hindi. Later wooden scabbard covered with fabric. Length 93 cm.
