A thrusting sword,
Southern German, ca. 1480/90. Slender tapering (lightly notched) blade of diamond section with two cross marks stamped side by side on each side of the blade. Iron quillons of diamond section slightly curved towards the blade. Replacement(?) grip cover with cord wrapping and leather cover. Flat pommel with toothed midrib and a capstan. Length 120 cm. Rare late Gothic pommel type. There are two similar examples in the collection of the Swiss Landesmuseum (National Museum).
