A hand-and-a-half battle sword,
German, ca. 1420. Strong double-edged blade, the upper half with a flat grooved ridge on both sides, one side with a brass-filled cross and coat of arms with a tournament helmet (inlay incomplete). Straight quillons of square section, the two wood grip scales riveted to the tang, the cord winding and leather grip cover missing. There is a glued-on inventory label for the Dorgerloh Foundation. Wheel pommel with flattened cones on both sides. Length 132 cm.
