A flintlock blunderbuss

Hanover, between 1814 and 1829
Smooth bore, round barrel with oblong, bell-shaped muzzle stamped "ST", lightly rust-pitted. Polished, unsigned flint lock. Dark walnut stock, brass furniture and with an iron ramrod. A draft in the area of the lock plate and in the left upper stock. Repaired areas right and left of the muzzle. The butt is worm-eaten. Length: 113 cm.
Produced by August Störmer at the Herzberg gun factory in the Harz mountains, special Hanoverian weapons of this type were unknown in the various armies of the German states. The only other known example can be found in the Historical Weapons Museum in Rastatt.
