A percussion pistol

Pirmet, Paris around 1800
Damascus barrel, rounded on the underside, in 14 mm calibre with microgroove rifling, patent breechblock, dovetailed sights and gold inlaid muzzle. Signed over the breech in gold, "Pirmet a Paris". Lightly engraved converted percussion lock with single set trigger and additional gold inlaid signature. Lacquered walnut half stock with checkered grips and delicately engraved iron furniture. Thunderbolts on the pommel cap. Length: 36 cm.
Pirmet, Paris, known 1779-1818, worked for the Westphalian and French royal houses among others.
